Dimitris Papaioannou began working for Eurostat in Luxembourg in 1992 as an IT specialist. In 1993, he joined Ktimatiki Bank and worked as a dealer in the money, bond, and foreign exchange markets in the dealing room. In 1999, following the acquisition of the bank by the National Bank of Greece, he took over NBG’s foreign currency bond portfolio worth €1,5 billion. In 2000, he moved to NBG Asset Management MFMC, where he assumed managing bond mutual funds worth up to €6 billion. In 2015, he was appointed Head of Investment Strategy for the Private Banking division of the National Bank of Greece. Since 2019, he has been working at Attica Wealth Management as Head of Investments. He holds an MBA in International Banking & Finance from the University of Birmingham and is a graduate of the University of Piraeus. . He also holds a category (C) certification in Investment Portfolio Management from the Bank of Greece.
